Long Bike day 40 miles (Base Ride) Building Endurance

Today was a great ride to almost sum up a great week. I still have 2 workouts to complete before I’m done for the week. A swim & a long run. This week was very simply laid out because I’ve been learning not to overwhelm myself considering I don’t get as much sleep as I should and I’m a human milk factory to my son.

The ride felt great! It was a Long Base ride. To build endurance. So heart rate low. Speed low. I actually didn’t fuel as well as I should have and I somewhat felt my power not as high but it was ok , I still got through the ride. I also punished myself by flying at 25mph to catch some guy that rode by us at about 22mph lol! After I caught him I was in recovery mode. Whew! We were on mile 33 when I realized I had 7 miles to go. Lol! Long story short I finished my ride with a ending 5 miles average of 15 😂. The rest of the ride was a range of 18-19mph average… Overall good ride but I can’t ride anymore off of a handful of trail mix before I step out of the door.
